Writer and comedian Martha Cipolla has been called “a female Jon Stewart” (by one of her Facebook friends) and “so funny” (by her mom). She has written seven activity books for Mattel’s Monster High and one activity book for Mattel’s Ever After High, as Pollygeist Danescary and Elizabelle Castle, respectively.

 

Martha is the creator of the Austen Family Improv Players, which Time Out New York called “charmingly absurd” and selected as a critics’ pick, and which the New York Times called a “favorite.” In addition to improvising with the Austen Family, Martha performs in New York City with indie improv team Gilda and writes and performs sketch comedy and original songs.

 

As a producer, Martha has helmed shows at the Peoples Improv Theater, The Tank, and the Treehouse Theater, including the sold-out Harry Potter and the Birthday Spectacular; the ten-month run of Gilda’s Date Night; the ten-month run of the Austen Family Improv Players at the PIT; and the Fancy Pants Variety Hour.
